1. Who we are

Parallax is operated by Company legal name, e.g. Parallax Earth Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales under number Companies House number, registered office Registered office address. VAT number: VAT number, or delete if not VAT registered. Contact us at hello@parallaxearth.com.

2. What Parallax provides

Parallax provides information about measured vertical ground movement derived from open satellite radar data (the European Ground Motion Service). The free check gives a summary for the 100 m square at a postcode’s centre point. A paid report gives the full measurements, a neighbourhood map and a downloadable PDF. Both describe the period stated in the report (currently 2020–2024).

3. What a report is not

A Parallax result or report is not a building survey, structural assessment, valuation, mining search or environmental search, and it is not advice. It cannot see the condition of any building. It measures an area, not an individual property. You should not rely on it alone when deciding whether to buy, sell, insure, lend on or repair a property. Use it alongside advice from a qualified surveyor, structural engineer or conveyancer. Our accuracy and limits page explains more.

4. Buying a report

The price is shown before you pay and includes VAT where applicable. Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe.
The contract is formed when payment succeeds. We then give you immediate access to the report online, and email you a link to it.
A report link gives access to that report for 12 months. Please download the PDF if you want a permanent copy.
We only sell reports for postcodes where we hold a measurement.

5. Your right to cancel

A report is digital content supplied immediately. Before you pay, we ask you to agree to immediate supply and to acknowledge that you will lose your 14-day right to cancel once the report is made available to you, as allowed by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This doesn’t affect your other legal rights or our refund policy.

6. If something goes wrong

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If your report is faulty, for example it won’t open or is for the wrong location, tell us and we’ll fix or replace it, or refund you where that isn’t possible. See our refund policy.

7. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
Because of what a report is (section 3), we are not responsible for decisions made by relying on it alone, or for losses that aren’t foreseeable.
If you use Parallax for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.

8. Using the site

You may use Parallax for your own personal purposes. You must not scrape or bulk-download results, resell reports, try to access reports you haven’t bought, or interfere with the service. Professional and bulk use is available separately: contact us.

9. Intellectual property

The Parallax website, design, software and report format belong to us. The underlying measurements come from open data sources listed on our data sources page and remain subject to their own licences. You may share your report with your advisers, lender, insurer and buyers or sellers of the property.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy applies to that purchase.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Please contact us first; we aim to resolve any complaint within 14 days.
